Job Description
The Electrical Service Technician evaluates, assembles, and maintains electrical systems in equipment which are predominantly portable. The electrical technician does not design electrical systems but will identify potential problems in design.
Assembles, evaluates, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
Constructs and fabricates parts, using hand tools and specifications.
Reads and interprets electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Advises management on continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
Orders of electrical supplies and equipment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/ Abilities
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment. Able to read blueprints and technical drawings. Excellent mechanical skills. Excellent communication skills. Familiar with code requirements and company safety regulations.
Education and Experience
Valid state license that permits you to practice as a journeyman electrician. High school diploma or equivalent required. 2-year electrical, technical, or related degree. At least 2 years’ experience as an electrical technician. Vocational/technical school training and completion of an electrical apprenticeship required.
Physical Requirements
Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year. Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders. Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits. Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
